In the short story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, the two main characters, Ichabod Crane and Brom Van Brunt are introduced in different ways. It is easier to picture Ichabod Crane because his appearance is talked about more in depth. Brom Van Brunt is brought forward to seem like a bad guy that doesn't care about much.
