So it’s a painting of a ribbon dancer. Well, it’s technically a mixed media piece because the dancer is in pen. Anyway, her hands and one of her feet blend with the ribbons so she becomes the ribbon itself, and the ribbons are wrapping around her so she’s literally wrapped up in her art form, pun intended. But the focus is more on the passion than on the girl. The background is black so that the ribbons really glow on the page. She’s going to fade into the background, but not completely, because the pen has a bluish tone to it. It would probably be better if I just showed you a picture of it. That’s why I do art after all – to illustrate the things that are difficult to explain. But it’s not just about throwing paint on a canvas. I paint to open windows through which people can free their yawps and connect with each other because I know what it’s like to feel misunderstood and trapped.…show more content…
I was the one who listened but never said anything, preferring to observe the world around me. Even when I did express my thoughts, I noticed that others preferred that I listen instead, so I did. My self-confidence fell as a result and I started to question whether I should voice my opinions at all. Despite choosing to remain silent, I often drew or wrote little poems to record my thoughts.
