My parents told me from the beginning, “Finish school, go to college, and get a good job, DO NOT turn up like us”. I had constant bumps in the road throughout my personal life, and I will admit they have affected my academic life. The biggest bump in the road was when we became homeless, this happened in junior year. Throughout my life Worry has been a constant companion, Hardship never seems to be far way, and Perseverance continues to light the way. Junior year, Worry started asking questions; what major are you going for? I guess biology. What college or university are you thinking about going to? There is a difference! What are your passions? I do not know. I did not know the answers, I was thinking about finances, and if my parents need help, and do they need me to pitch in. Therefore, thanks to Worry, I started working in a restaurant. I was working about twenty-five hours every week. I was not used to it, the people were rude, it made me miserable, stressed, and it showed in my academic profile. My first checks were to pay for my burdens, and tickets to Bolivia because my mother’s father, my grandfather suffered from of a stroke, he later died this summer. We spent thanksgiving and Christmas without my mother. It was the first time we did not have a Christmas tree, presents or a big Christmas dinner, but we still went to church to give thanks, and pray that everything would be better. Throughout December and January, we were searching for a house to rent. We were eight people with two rabbits, and the bank was kicking us out.
