America cherishes diversity because without diversity we would be no where close to where we are today. More specifically America and the rest of the world would still look like the colonial ages. In the discussion of weather America truly cherishes diversity on one hand citizens on a small scale might not cherish the diversity around them. I believe that America as a whole is built off of diversity and how different people with different ideas can come together and make a difference. George Washington acknowledges that it shouldn’t matter someone’s race color or religion, as long as they get the job done. Washington suggests that when he was seeking a bricklayer and carpenter for his estate he stated, . . . If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe. This quote basically means it didn’t matter any individual of any kind could work on his house Washington didn’t care he just wanted the good workers. In addition, our history of America, though sometimes not everyone acknowledges it proves the point Washington was trying to make. For example lets use war, back when the world was knee deep in dead bodies from all of the catastrophes and war going on when America needed soldiers they eventually started taking in people of all color and races because it didn’t matter as long as they were getting the help much needed to win. More specifically in the article “Making the Future Better Together” written by Eboo Patel, Wahsington states . . . . Wars between clans and tribes, tension between sects and groups, prejudice directed at religion or nationality- those were the problems of past centuries. And weather you are reading the news about Somalia or Libya or Europe or Oklahoma, those are the problems of our future. . .
