Cather Avery is a freshman at University of Nebraska Lincoln, whom better known around the internet as MagiCath. She is the author of Carry On, Simon, a fan-fiction novel that is based around Gemma T. Leslie's Simon Snow series. In the early stages of the novel, we realize how little Cath does not want to have to do with anything with anyone. This is something that Cath constantly struggles with all throughout her freshman year of college. Cath has many ups and downs in the novel, like boys, plagiarism, and family issues. We see in the novel how Cather grows as a young woman in both physical and mental aspects. In Fangirl, we meet many characters both major and minor. Each have an impact on the novel. One example would be Wren Avery; Wren is Cath's identical twin sister, and for the past 18 years, the twins have been inseparable. Wren loves to party and have fun, and later suffers the consequences for under age drinking when she gets alcohol poisoning. In the beginning of the novel, Wren was often very mean to Cath, which caused Cath to not only become more independent, but also a little depressed because she felt like she had lost her best friend.…show more content…
Levi is 21 years old and is your typical dream boy. He always has the biggest smile on his face, and is extremely nice and friendly to every person he sees. Levi is very supportive of Cather, and enjoys listening to Cath read her fan-fiction stories out loud. Both Levi and Cather have a very special connection, no matter what Levi has always been there for Cather even when they were just friends. Other major characters include Cath's English professor, Professor Piper, Cath's roommate Reagan (Levi's ex-girlfriend), and her Father Arthur (Art)
