Cherokee High School excels in many departments. Teachers are excellent, classes are varied, and many student needs are attended to. Despite this, there is one student issue that Cherokee does not actively try to alleviate : student anxiety. Currently, Cherokee’s main ways to assist students with this issue is a brief meditation session during lunch and learn and the YANA club.. Meditation does not help everyone, nor does everyone have the time during lunch to participate in this group due to labs, clubs, and eating lunch. The YANA club, which stands for “you are never alone”, attempts to assist students who feel alienated and stressed, however, due to many faults, the club has never “tipped” as very few people attend or are even aware of the
