The process will be done in a sterilized operations room equipped for this type of operations. The procedure starts with using a calming droplet in the affected eyes of the patient. The LASIK surgery consists mainly of two important steps; namely, cutting the tissue (flap) and focusing the laser beams on cornea to correct the reflection. The first step is to partially cut the front tip of the cornea as a flap (270-300 Degrees are cut in most of the cases) using very precise electronic devices. After that, the flap gets bent and an excimer laser beam is focused on the cornea to reshape it to the desired level. Then, the flap will be released back to its original position without sewing. After waiting for 15 to 20 minutes, the doctor will re-checked the eyes to ensure the safety of the cut portion of the cornea. Next, the patient can return to his/her house immediately. 1. Usually, humans' sight index slightly changes over time for many reasons (such as sitting in front of the computers for extended periods and physiological changes with age advancement). The risk here is that the person wearing the glasses could continue using the eyeglasses for a long time without checking the sight index changes, which could harm the eyes if no reaction is taken.
2. Eyeglasses could break at any time which may lead to negative consequences. For instance, if the eyeglasses of a car driver break while driving the car for any reason, this could harmfully affect the safety of the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and other car drivers. Another example, the eyeglasses could break at the night of a final exam or an important conference where the outcomes would be unwelcome. Having spare eyeglasses is a good idea for those who want to stay with eyeglasses.
