Bad With Money – written and performed by Ben Rimalower; directed by Aaron Mark on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 at 9:30pm EST. The cabaret room at The Duplex, It’s comfy, small and narrow. People are seated close to one another. The room was packed. Ben Rimalower made his entrance through the audience singing an old Judy Garland song; “I’d like to hate myself in the morning”. Ben Rimalowers’s autobiographical one-man show at the Duplex Theatre in downtown Manhattan is an emotional play of a grown man and his addiction to spending money. The plot of the play is that Ben Rimalowers struggles to overcome his addiction to spending beyond his means. The problems leads him extreme actions, getting into debt, drug addiction, prostitution and fraud.…show more content…
His mom even paid all his bills throughout high school and college. His mom had given him his prom limo money and he was holding all his friends money for the limo as well and ended up spending it all on shopping. His mom had to pay for the limo at the end. The story goes on as he explains that he starts to betray his friend who had given him a chance to fulfill his dreams in creating a theatrical production. He uses his friend credit card by mistake once, but since he noticed that his friend didn’t notice the bill he keeps on using the credit card as his own and had used almost over fifteen thousand dollars. His friend feeling sympathy for him did not press
