Academics Training to become a marine biologist starts in early years of education. In high school one should take biology, chemistry, advanced mathematics, and physics to get the basic understanding of what they will be practicing in the future. In order to become a marine biologist and develop your own research you need a Ph.D. Marine biologist don’t necessarily need a Ph.D., they can get a masters degree and be successful. Internship/Experience Experience is very important when it comes to being a marine biologist. They need to have some degree working with a specific science. Marine biologist must know marine science, biology, and chemistry. These sciences are practiced in a masters or Ph.D. program. Marine biologist will also have to be good a researching. They need to have math and computer knowledge. Many times a marine biologist will work with some technology in which they practice math on. Finally, marine biologist needs to have writing skills. They need to be able to present their research and/or ideas in a professional matter. Physical abilities Marine Biologist will also be physical while working. Many times they will be working at sea, which means they might go scuba diving to observe marine life. Many times, they will travel to different locations for a certain project. Being physical and active as a marine biologist will allow one to get the best results.
