Some Like It Hot (1959) I found this film to be extremely hilarious, and I especially like the fact that it does not resort to profanity as a means to be funny. Most current forms of “mature” entertainment, especially comedy, involve all sorts of swearing, so I found it refreshing to see a movie that used only clever jokes and witty dialogue to make me laugh. Then again, this might be the result of its production during the 1950s, which was a decade that emphasized conservative beliefs. People during that time probably considered foul language as unorthodox, so it is likely that the script writers had refrained from using swear to ensure that the film had an audience.
