Introduction Algae is an organism that grows in water. Algae is an autotroph, meaning it produces its own food, oxygen. The algae which was studied in this experiment was unicellular and dissolved to find the concentration of oxygen produced. In this report sites at Bee Creek were analyzed, based on their canopy coverage, for levels of dissolved oxygen and concentration of chlorophyll a, from which one was able to find the amount of oxygen the algae in the water produced. Methods The study was conducted in Bee Creek, located in the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve in Austin, Texas.
