The play of "The Crucible" is about the town of Salem and their witch trails. About a young girl in love who is jealous about Elisabeth Proctor In the play "The Crucible" the main character that drove the drama and even the story was Abigail Williams. Abigail Williams was a vengeful, selfish, and a fantastic liar. When Abigail was about to be busted for being ankle deep in witchcraft she skillfully manages to blame it on a second class citizen named Tituba what made this matter even worse is that Abigail persuaded Tituba to tag along and cast spells. After a brief affair with John Proctor, Abigail fell in love with him so she wanted to get rid of his wife Elisabeth Proctor so lies about what happened and why Elisabeth Proctor discharged her so she lies and says Elisabeth is the liar. John Proctor was Salem farmer, he was very high in the town. Johns lust for Abigail Williams led to their affair, and created Abigail’s jealousy of his wife, Elizabeth Proctor which sets the entire play in motion. He eventually through Mary Warren’s testimony John makes an attempt to say Abigail as a fraud without revealing the information about the affair by saying "I do, sir. I believe she means to murder.". When his attempt fails, he finally confesses by saying "It is a whore!". He pushed hisself to death even more by saying "I say - I say - God is dead" and saying " You are pulling Heaven down and raising up a whore!" John also made drama in his love life and household that can be proven by Elisabeth saying "John, I counted myself so plain, so poorly made, no honest love could come to me!
