SPA #3 The text makes clear that ged understands the dragons strengths and weaknesses. In the beginning Ged was not afraid to fight off the dragons, he even told the younger dragons to send the Old One to him: Ged is not uncertain about the strengths and weaknesses of the dragons, one of the dragons were very small. “He was not large of his kind, maybe the length of a fortyoared ship...He had not got his growth yet, nor his voice” (120). Ged figured out a way to defeat one of the dragons, he bind his wings; this sent the dragon into the sea: “All Ged had to do was bind his wings and limbs stiff… and send him hurling aside into the sea like a stone falling” (120).
