Flake embeds how Raheem is a bad character; even though the narrator is the antagonist in some ways but so is Raheem. The narrator needs to be more selfish. If she does not other girls will get with Raheem; “The red headed girl skips school with Raheem they kissed and went places together”. She would lose her man again. But it would be good for her to let him go because he is a bad influence on her. Also, the narrator needs to be more affirmative;…show more content… People will treat her badly. She needs to start listening to her mom. That will help her have a better life. The mom tells her “She ain’t no beauty prize”. The mom is right is right. If she does not listen she will be with Raheem forever. The mom gave her good advice. So once the narrator understands it she will know what to do. If she stays with Raheem who knows what will happen to her; she will get into a lot of trouble. She will pushed around more; have no life; and Raheem will do whatever he wants to her. The narrator needs to be more mean, tough, and affirmative. She needs to be a better girl. She needs to take control of her life. She can be controlled by anyone. She also needs to make a better impression on people that way she will have a better chance in life; because she didn’t make a good impression on the girls. She will be in control of her life. After that she will become a better person without Raheem. Or any other bad influences on her like the Red headed girl. So then she will take control of her life. Then finally she will have a better life and perspective than she used to have. Flake use characteristics and the setting of the story to influence the way Raheem and the narrator acts in “So I Ain’t No Good Girl”. The community makes them be the way they
