A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories. It is a about a mean spirited man named Ebenezer Scrooge. He is a well off accountant who is visited by four ghost. The first ghost that haunted Scrooge was his old partner Jacob Marley who warn him of his upcoming fate if he doesn't change his ways. He tells him of the three spirits that will visit him throughout the night. The visit him one by one, Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas future. As each spirit shows him there examples of him in different phases of his life, through fear Scrooge’s heart slowly softens. Here they watch as the family remembers Tiny Tim. “When Bob comes in, he tells them that he's found a very green place to bury Tim and then he bursts into tears.” The entire time that Bob worked for Scrooge, Scrooge had no feeling towards him. He paid him the strict amounts and nothing more, but when he see this he begins the regret this. After this, Scrooge wants to know why he is been taken here, why would the ghost show him this. He begs to know who is this man. "'Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of the things that May be only?'" Stave 4, pg. 117. Finally, they find themselves at a graveyard where he is showed to a fresh grave. Scrooge sees the headstone and it read Ebenezer Scrooge. After seeing this you see a change in him. 'I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.'"Stave 4, pg. 117 The final ghost broke him. He finally realized that he could not live his life like this.
