In the novel called “ The Gift Of The Magi” they use a lot of symbolism in many different ways . Both Della and Jim gave their prized possession for each other, to symbolize their love for each other, Which this is the main plot it of the story.The most important tone that this novel shows is that they both do not focus on what they have lost or what they don't have but they adore the gifts they have given each other for the holiday.The prized possession Della gave up was her hair, her hair symbolize her beauty and how she gave it away for her lover, Jim. She cut off her hair that Tim and her loved and she sold it for money to get Tim a gift, which was a key chain for his watch and Tim got her a lovely comb. Ironically this didn't not work
