Reactions to wasp stings are more common than those to bees. Richard S H Pumphrey, Ian S D Roberts first studied post mortem findings in all anaphylactic reactions and examined 56 cases of which 19 were due to wasp or bee venom and concluded that most common reported finding is non specific pulmonary oedema and congestion. Features suggesting anaphylaxis were noted in 100 % of cases in food allergies followed by 67% in wasp and bees venom.
