The Nutrition health promotion teaching focus on Grade 3 children's (7-8 years old). The children at age 7-8 achieved the ability to perform concrete mental operations and the children are able to mentally classify objects according to the quantitative measurements (Piaget's theory-cognitive development).As the Erikson's theory stated, the children in the age 7-8 develop a sense of competence in learning new skills and successfully achieving the task can lead to a positive attitude toward work in adulthood. Therefore, the teaching strategies for grade 3 students mainly focus on simple logical explanation, opportunity for listening, reading, writing and visually seeing so that the children can say, write and do and that helps the children in VAK learning style explanation(VAK,2015). There is carpet area for group teaching and meeting, accommodation for children with special needs (for example, student needing special attention and assistance).The particular focus that I would like to do is avoiding distractions because during the group work children can easily lead to distractions within 5-6 minutes, therefore try to provide opportunity to do collaborative (example; watching video) and independent learning (fill out the activity form with student input). Goal: To analyze and review the student's knowledge about Canada's Food Guide. Objective: 1. By the end of the teaching, grade 3 children will be able to identify the 4 food groups in Canada's Food
