The PHQ-9 is a nine-question assessment tool use by healthcare professionals to assess patients with depression. The PHQ-9 has a sensitivity of 88% and a specificity of 88%. The internal consistency is high with a sound reliability and validity properties (American Psychological Association, 2015).
