Through time, people have become more and more afraid of physicians. This results in fewer doctor or dentist visitations (Consumer's Guide to Experts). This is not a good habit to fall into. Dentist is a special doctor who checks teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy. Dentists will help their patients care for their teeth and look for problems so they can be repaired or treated. Everyone should get a checkup from the dentist every six months. People should have dental checkups regularly. The dentists will help prevent any other diseases invading the body. And the dentist will teach their patients how to take care of their teeth on their own. According to, Diseases and Disorders article, by the National Institutes of Health, “There are different types of diseases out there that can harm the body, but one of them is called Gingivitis. Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease that can usually be reversed with daily brushing and flossing with regular cleaning. This form of gum disease does include loss of bone and tissue that hold teeth in place” (2014). People wouldn’t want any disease attacking their body. So it’s the best to keep oral hygiene in check. This is the first step of protecting the body from the foreign invaders called diseases. By taking the time and effort to keep those diseases away from happening. Attending dentist regularly can reduce the chances of getting an oral disease. Not taking care of the teeth and not having a proper dental hygiene can cause the body to become unhealthy.
