These women had drastically different upbringings and careers. I hope to spotlight both of these talented ladies and all they have achieved. I am hoping by showcasing these women and what they have accomplished I will be able to show differences in the paths of comedy each woman took and what they are doing today. Mo’Nique Angela Hicks (née Imes) was born in Baltimore Maryland, the youngest of four children, she graduated high school and went on to graduate from the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. Her first job was as a customer service representative at the phone company. She got her start in comedy at the downtown Baltimore Comedy Factory Outlet, when her brother Steve dared her to perform at an open mic night, soon after she won the role of Nicole “Nikki” Parker on the hit TV series Moesha. Fey has several charities, most notably her work with Autism Speaks, an organization formed to raise money and awareness to autism.
