This is the very first scene of the play where a significant amount of relationships is formed and much description is specified. However, we come across some of the themes in the play, which are examined, and there is awareness in the language and action. The scene opens in Theseus’ palace which is in Athens. Theseus’s wedding to Hippolyta which is in four days and Theseus is aggravated because of time moving slowly, his lover Hippolyta comforts him by telling him that the day will soon come. As Theseus and Hippolyta are both preparing for their wedding celebrations, Egeus and his daughter, Hermia, then come onto the scene along with Demetrius and Lysander. At this point Egeus is furious as his daughter disapproves to marry Demetrius which is the man of his choice nonetheless she is in love with Lysander. Egeus blames Lysander for taking her love in a deceitful way. Theseus Approves with Egeus, that it is a daughter’s responsibility to respect her father’s decision by obeying him. Hermia then questions her father to know what the greatest punishment she will get if she was to disobey him. Spending her life in a monastery negotiation Hermia’s choices or simply death. The impaired relationships are mended out at the end of Act IV, and Act V obliges to celebrate the entire impression of marriage in a spirit of joyful pleasure. The multiple wedding towards the end of Act IV symbolizes the proper perseverance of the romantic issues that have affected the two young couples from the very start of the play. The developed and firm love of Theseus and Hippolyta is distinguished with the connection of Oberon and Titania, who’s bickering, has such a destructive control on the world surrounded by them.
