The War of 1812 was a war between America and the British. This war was much like the Revolutionary War, which was the war Americans fought for their independence from Great Britain. The War of 1812 had many battles that were fought. One major battle was The Battle of Tippecanoe. This battle was between the Indians and the Americans. Tecumseh was a major Indian leader during this battle, however, when he and his Indian soldiers lost the battle, he fled to Canada for British protection. The Americans felt the need to get rid of the Indians on American soil, and because Canada, controlled by the British, was helping Tecumseh, the Americans thought they should launch an attack on Canada.
