The War of 1812 was a war fought between the newly independent country of the United States against the world naval power of Britain. As the United States was trying to develope its main goals were to expand into new territories west of the nation and also increase their exportation of goods to other countries such as Britain and France. While the U.S. was exporting its goods to both countries, Britain was in war of their own against the France. In need of an advantage against its enemy, both countries attempted to cut off American ships to stop trade. Soon reports began to come in that the British Royal Navy were forcing American sailors to serve with the British navy. The American people and its head government officials were angered by the
