In every scenario of life, actions have consequences. Whether or not the consequences are big or small, some actions carry their consequences throughout generations, damaging the way of life for others. Societal advancement at the expense of others is not okay because it has a huge impact on the economic growth, adaption to new technology, and overall population of other countries being taken advantage of. If you act to adapt but cause bad or restricting changes to a society, it basically takes away a person's agency which is unacceptable. (French Viewpoint, 1) One of France's main reasons for imperializing Africa was to gain power in their markets and improve their economy, but while they took colonies they forced the Africans to work for them, depriving them the right of working to build their own economy for their tribes or countries. The same goes for England when they wanted to imperialize Africa. "Just fancy those parts that are at present inhabited by the most despicable specimens of human beings what an alteration there would be if they were brought under Anglo-Saxon influence, look again at the extra employment a new country added to our dominions gives." (Rhodes, 1) They were looking forward to imperializing to move ahead in their economic status and make the colonies work for them. Both France and England were planning on employing their colonies to work for their gain, but that made it so the colonies couldn't advance themselves in their own economy. One of the main aspects of having a powerful country is their economic status, and depriving someone of growing and adapting economically to better help yourself is
