“The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has many different themes. C.S Lewis illustrates many different ideas about life. Sacrifice, compassion, and forgiveness are just three out of many themes. The basic storyline involves four kids, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, who stumble on another world that is in danger of their government. They help fight back and resolve the issues with their Queen. The children live with the Professor. Lucy, the youngest of the four children, finds Narnia. The four of them played hide and seek. Lucy hid in a wardrobe that leads to Narnia. Lucy quickly meets a friend. Their bubbly personalities hit it off and the Faun, Mr. Tumnus, goes against his orders from the White Witch. The White Witch wants nothing more than complete power over Narnia. A son of Adam or a daughter of Eve can jeopardize that for her. Therefore, the people of Narnia are always on the lookout for humans and must turn them in to the Queen to be killed. Some may choose to use it, others might not. Edmund, one of the kids, becomes fond of the evil White Witch. The evil witch has a plan to take over the whole country, Narnia. Edmund is not aware of this, as he is too selfish to see all of the red flags that are around him. The three other children are trying to stay hidden from the White Witch. After finding out all of the evil activities the White Witch has taken part in, Edmund wants out. He never meant any harm to his family or Lucy’s friend, Mr. Tumnus. When Edmund comes to Aslan, the two have a talk. Afterwards, Edmund says nothing but, “I’m sorry.” “And everyone said, “That’s all right.” And then everyone wanted very hard to say something which would make it quite clear that they were all friends with him again- something ordinary and natural- and of course no one could think of anything in the world to say.”
