The movie “The invasion of the body snatchers” was a movie made in 1956 during the cold war. The movie was about how creatures come out from pods and take the form of anybody they choose without any emotion or feeling. This movie was made to show the spread of Communism and “The red Scare”. Throughout the movie they give hints about what happened during the 1950’s. This also shows and talks about how fast the spread of Communism is. The first piece evidence that is shown about Communism is in the beginning when Dr. Miles is being told that peoples loved ones aren’t who they say they are. The people said that they look, sound, and act differently when they are with them. They also tell him that they just have no emotions t anything. Miles finds the bodies in lying on the ground. He says that the body has a common face but no details. He then gets a painting of the body’s thumbprint to do a finger scan to see who the body is. When they paint his fingerprint on the paper they realized that the finger print has no lines on it. This is showing that communism doesn’t have an identity. This also explains that it doesn’t have any individuality and no one person is different. The body had come to life and taken one of the characters in the movie and took over his body. The third piece of evidence is the people who come out of the pods. They represent the stereotypical Communist. The Communist were known as cold-hearted and backstabbers that would get you you’re your most venerable. In the movie, the pod people would only form and attack you when you are sleeping. In the movie one of the pod people had said when they took over Dr. Mile’s girlfriend had said “a moment of sleep had been death to her soul.” Their goals were to take everyone over and make everyone equal with no problems occurring just like the way that communism
