I remember the first time I watched the initial Insidious movie; it was in Mr. Ware’s fifth period health class during my freshman year. From the moment I heard the deafening soundtrack queue in the opening scene, I was instantly hooked onto the Insidious series and developed an overwhelming craving to watch the second and third movie. Because of its universal theme that everyone can relate to, the actor’s ability to be extremely intense and emotional in certain scenes, and the amount of angst, suspense, and drama depicted in the movies, the Insidious trilogy are the best movies of their genre. Not that this makes them terrible movies, it just does not give people nightmares like a true horror movie, such as Insidious, should. According to Rotten Tomatoes, a website completely devoted to film reviews and news, Insidious has a higher rating of 66% than Carrie, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and The Haunting in Connecticut. Although Insidious is nerve-wrackingly scary, it’s not so scary that it keeps viewers away. In fact, it brings them back for more! As reported by IMBd (The Internet Movie Database), Insidious is “crazy scary and thoroughly entertaining”, Insidious: Chapter 2 “does a great job of furthering itself from the usual fare by expanding on the elements that made it different”, and Insidious: Chapter 3 is “the king of the Insidious movies”.
