Setting is crucial to a story, it helps explain to the readers what the characters in the tale are seeing as well as feeling at certain times. It is also usually one of the first things mentioned in most written work, showing the level of importance setting holds in not only fiction but non-fiction as well. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, there are two settings that may seem significantly more important to the reader, these being the Wilderness and Dilmun.
