To start with, it is might be essential to explain the meaning of anaesthesia. Anaesthasia is ‘Drug-induced loss of consciousness during which patient are not arousable, even by painful stimulation.’(1) During the anaesthetic, patient’s ‘ability to maintain ventilator function independently is often impaired; therefore, airway assistance as a way of intubation, laryngeal mask airway, or other adjunct is usually necessary.’(2). However, how could the doctors provide comfort to the patient during sugary before anaesthetic discovery? In past centuries operation were processed , and it assume that different civilization may have used different way to deal with the pain, such as pressure or ice to numb extremities . The answer is no; the analgesic properties was ignored, until it was demonstrated by scientific exhibition. Nonetheless, the importance of anaesethia to surgeons has not discussed yet.(3) Anesthesia is a pathway the surgeons walk through it in order to carry different stages of operations with ease. Also, anesthesia enables surgeons to carry operations in a humanized manner with respect to the patients. However, it seems that anesthesia is considered as the latest resolution in the world of medicine and treatment. Hence, it is serving both patients and surgeons in several aspects. First of all, patient would lack their consciousness during the surgery and will not collect any memory related to it. “You lose awareness and the ability to feel pain, form memories and move." [4] Moreover, anesthesia used to stabilize the patient’s body functions. Monitoring the minor changes occurring to the patient’s body functions is important because these observations will indicate to the anesthesiologist a huge amount of information about the current health of the patient. [5.1] ”In addition to directing your anesthesia, the anesthesiologist will manage vital functions, such as heart rate, blood pressure, heart rhythm, body temperature, and breathing. The delivery of anesthesia needs a specialized doctor. In US , to become an anaesthologist, medical students must study for four years after graduating from medical school . This career is to detect the suitable anesthetic drug dose for the patient with the consultation of a surgical team to complement the surgical plan. Due to the development in the anaesthetic field, surgeons are able to preform more complicated surgeries such as liver resection; Which is the surgical removal of all or a portion of the liver (7).Moreover, Hysterectomy which is a major operation to remove a woman’s uterus. Nowadays, we can find different forms of anaesthesia and the appropriate form is determined by the type of surgery, such as Local, regional and general are the different types of the anaesthesia. To clarify this more, “Local anesthesia is an anesthetic agent given to temporarily stop the sense of pain in a particular area of the body”(8) , Its given by an injection in the region that contain the nerves that provide feeling to that part of the body. The second type is Regional anaesthesia. it is given only in the region that will receive the surgical procedure.
