Ernie Hung Period 3 Ms. Cler 4/30/2015 Joan Miro’s hope Biography Joan Miro is a famous Spanish artist. Joan Miro is born in Barcelona on the date of April 20, 1893. (Joan Miró Biography) His parents working as a watchmaker and a goldsmith, while both of them encourage him to have a career of businessman. At first, he goes to school of business for three years, gets ill however. After that, he decides to change his career and major in art. (Joan Miro, and his paintings) He attends to school at the School of Industrial and Fine Arts in Barcelona until the year of 1910. Later on, he studies at La Lonja School of Fine Arts. The Farm The Farm is painted when Miro return to Paris in 1924. The Farm is painted with supernatural land with energy as it goes to the roots. It seems to be one of his child memory when he visit Mallorca and Cornudella where his mother’s home and father’s home. (The Farm, 1922 by Joan Miro) “The painting has the unsettling quality of something observed and at the same time dreamed of or remembered.” (Style of Joan Miro) The Farm reflects the dream of Miro and part of his memory to the world. The Farm shows Miro’s feeling to the world during the time period. In the painting, everything has its own autonomous space, for example, the grass has it style.
