SAT Essay In the article, “The Digital Parent Trap,” by Eliana Dockterman of Time Inc, Dockterman talks about technology and what benefits it holds. She sets out to convince parents that screen time for their children is not all bad, and new technology can be constructive in their child’s education. She explains that technology is ever-growing and it is instrumental in schools already. The text is efficient in convincing the reader that technology is not as bad as people make it seem because of Dockterman’s skillful use of quotes, logos, and sentence structure. To begin, the author uses quotes in order to support her argument. Dockterman uses quotes from experts; for example, “[Students are] no longer limited by what’s offered in school.”
