I think Tannen's analysis is very accurate, it is true male and females have two very distinct forms of communications. While women use a lot more body language, and stick to one subject for a long time, while maintaining eye contact. On the other hand, men tempt to look around the room and do little to no eye contact, and they switch topics very quickly. What I find funny is that even in the studies were they had two male best friend there was minimal eye contact.
