The core competence and long-term strategies penetrates in the US, Japanese and Western European markets. Softbank has positioned itself as the global number 1 in mobile, internet and technology industry. The company is aiming for perpetual growth through an unchanging venture spirit. In financial year 2016/2017, the company has achieved strong growth in segment income and free cash flow. This is the result of development in three key brands including SoftBank and Y!mobile smartphone brands and the SoftBank Hikari fiber-optic service brand (Softbank, 2017a). The company wants to strengthen its telecommunication network by initiatives for introduction of 5G network. The company spend a lot of resources in R&D of 5G network. In the meantime, to improve the supply chain management and management efficiency, the company has reduced its outsource business model to inhouse business model (Softbank, 2017a). According to his plan, the company will continue invest in technology and information revolution that can make the world a better place. The company has launched several comprehensive projects that can fundamentally transform the internet and mobile industry in Japan (Lewis et al, 2016). Now, Masayoshi Son wants to bring the technological revolution to the global market. The company is currently engaging in a global strategy where the headquarters in Japan has substantial control of the global operation in order to achieve maximum efficiency, learning and integration. The company’s Vision Fund is an example of how Softbank utilise its capital fund to invest in cutting edge technology worldwide. The leaders of the company created the Vision Fund as a result of their strong belief of the new information revolution that is underway.
