When it comes to sustainable living I believe that community is one of the strongest pillars that is able to promote change. Since the world’s population is starting to migrate towards urban settings, it provides an opportunity for members to connect with each other and work with their neighborhoods to provide a pleasant atmosphere in which the community can thrive. It also, depending on the urban setting, poses new challenges to promote collective sustainable behavior. Some of the barriers within Chicago communities are food deserts, and poor soil quality.
