Chapter one:Teenage girl is a dog's best friend A big problem in the world right now is animal abandonment. As a result of the issue many dogs are out walking around starving. Nearly dying because they don't have food,water, nor shelter. A 16 year old girl named Faye Carey took notice of this issue and wanted to get involved so she started volunteering at animal control every Friday. What her goal is, to try and give all dogs a second chance at life. She even setup a facebook page to help advertise these dogs to make it easier to get them into good homes. Consequently this is a everyday problem in the world that not many people seem to care much about. But at least there are a few people to seem to care and help make a difference in the world. They say that data on domestic violence and child abuse cases reveal that a staggering number of animals are targeted by those who abuse their children or spouse. Also abandoning a domesticated animal isn't just a cruel thing to do in many states its considered a crime. In some states stuff like that isn’t even taken notice of.
People who abandon their pet are just plain irresponsible and heartless. The animal legal defense fund sorts through thousands of messages a week about animal abandonment and neglection.There are about 70 million strays living in the u.s right now.
However some people relate how children get abandoned and neglected to dogs to because they say not giving a pet attention is like not giving a child attention.
