Chapter 1 Chapter One sets the scene in Hell with an unnamed narrator. Unnamed characters are introduced to show the attitude of the people in Hell. I think it is interesting that so many people did not care to get out and see Heaven just because they were so used to what they saw in their daily life in hell.
Chapter 2 Chapter 2 introduced two main characters, Toussled Head Poet and the Intellegent Man. Each character describes their life before they came to the Grey Town and why they want to leave and visit Heaven. Toussled Hair Poet believes that he will be better known and appreciated when he visits Heaven. The Intelligent Man’s only goal for visiting Heaven is to bring back better goods that the Grey Town cannot provide. HTe angle that came to meet him was a murderer while he was on earth. The Big Man did not understand how what could be possible because he was such a good man on earth. Your attitude does not make you a Christian, its what you believe. The man in Heaven shows that people can change.
Chapter 5 This Chapter focuses on “a conversation between “The Fat Man” and an angel. The thought was brought up by the angel that Hell can be ones Purgatory if it is left behind for Heaven. The idea is rejected by the Fat Man and he clings to his intellectual ideas. Lewis shows that if you only trust your own thoughts you will not do well in life. The angel does not understand that even after seeing both Heaven and Hell that this man can still reject the thought of this.
Chapter 6 This chapter focuses on how we don't realize how vast heaven is. We think that nothing can be much better than our life on earth and we don't have any understanding of how much better we could have it. We try to take parts of the Christian life and of the worldly life and it is not possible to combine…show more content… The ghost sharing his story in this chapter brings up the point that trust is beyond him because he has been lied to so many times. I think it is true that things are built up, while you are younger, to look like life will be in your favor so that when you grow up life is a huge reality check.
Chapter 8 This chapter focuses on the vanity that so many people have on Earth. So many people are so focused on themselves and so relied on themselves that they have no room to trust anyone else. Heaven is an unreal expectation for them and they believe that they will never be good enough for Heaven. I think it this is a true statement because so many people believe that no matter what they do they will not be good enough for anyone, especially God.
Chapter 9 This chapter talks about the difference between Heaven and Hell. I think its interesting that this book brings up the idea of the people of Hell even having the option to visit Heaven. In the Bible this has never been brought up. There was an instance where someone in Hell wanted to warn his family, but never visitation. I personally d not believe this could happen and i think it was an interesting way to show how the people on Earth truly act and would likely continue to act, even if they got the chance to live in
