Currently, there are hundreds of millions e-prescriptions that are transmitted to pharmacies in the United States each year. E-prescribing systems enable physicians to electronically generate and transmit prescriptions to pharmacies. Odukoya, Stone, and Chui (2014) conducted a study to identify the types of medication errors associated with e-prescribing in community pharmacies using direct observations of pharmacy personnel and interviews with pharmacists and technicians. The study identified ten types of errors across the observations and interviews. The main types of e-prescription errors were :(a) wrong drug quantity (40%), (b)wrong duration of therapy (21%) ; the number of days the patient was to receive the medication was inaccurate
