St. Michael The Archangel's feast day is September 29. Saint Michael is the patron saint of police, grocers, mariners, and sickness. The name Michael means "Who Is Like God." According to the Book of Revelation Saint Michael defeats Satan. After conflict Satan is thrown down to Earth, along with the fallen angels. In the 'Epistle of Jude' Michael is referred to as "Archangel." A widely used "Prayer to Saint Michael" was brought into official use by Pope Leo XIII in 1886 and was recommended by Pope John Paul II in 1994.
