The fourth incentive is the Mississippi School Administrator Sabbatical Program. The benefits of this program are teacher salary paid with fringe benefits during the program. The requirements for the sabbatical program are having three years of teaching experience and district recommendation. In exchange for the sabbatical program, participants are required to work five years in an administrative position in the sponsoring district. If the participant defaults, the participant must render immediate repayment plus interest of the scholarship (Mississippi Department of Education, 2012). The fifth incentive is moving incentives. The benefit of this program is moving reimbursements up to $1,000. The benefit of this program is a maximum grant of $6,000 is paid towards the closing cost for a critical shortage teacher. The only requirement is the house must be in the same county as the school district the critical shortage teacher will be employed. In exchange for housing assistance, each year of service one-third of the amount awarded will be forgiven. If the participant defaults, teachers will be liable to the Department of Education for one-third (1/3) of the amount of the loan for each year that the teacher does not render such service, plus interest accruing at the current Stafford Loan rate at the time the person discontinues service.
