In May 26, 1999 Stephen King gave his Keynote Address also known as his “Bogey Boy,” speech. The reason for this speech was due the recent Columbine shooting and the chaos it brought to the school systems. The audience he intended for this speech was virtually everyone, school shootings affect children, adults, seniors, politicians, police basically anyone. He starts his speech with “I want to talk about something very serious indeed, adolescent violence in American schools,” (King).
