The film “Race, the power of an illusion.” Has given me a clear fact about our society has developed an idea that race is social construct. We learned this idea of race from our parents, friends and even from the media. According to the chapter this week, to define the difference between male and female, the first thing that comes to mine is sex due to the primary characteristics that distinguished male and female. In addition to male and female primary characteristics, our society expects each gender to behave according to their gender. For example, our society expects women to take nurturing position and the men with more masculine position within the work force.
