We live in a generation where most women are finally becoming comfortable in their own skin, yet are sneered at, drooled over, or referred to condescending terms for feeling comfortable. I went to the Kihei pool recently and a little boy pointed at another woman who was wearing a bikini with “cheeky” bottoms and told his mom, “Look at her butt!” His mother responded, “Well, she didn’t have a decent mommy to tell her to cover up when she goes out in public.” I was so sad that she threw away a great opportunity to teach an important lesson.
