Resiliency is an important aspect to individuals healthily processing guilt after a crisis event. It can be the difference between guilt becoming a positive force or a destructive one in the survivor’s life. Resiliency is the ability of a person to cope, adjust, and recover from disruptive changes/setbacks in a healthy way. A caregiver’s goal is to foster resiliency in crisis survivors, Kevin Ellers stated in his lecture. In order to do this it is important that the caregiver assess the survivor’s vulnerability and their view/perception.
