Translation, face and content validity and inter-rater, intra-rater and test- retest reliability of persian version of"child initiated pretend play assessment" for Iranian children Background and Aim: The play is a complex concept unlike its appearance. This caused others to use play assessment to check other skills. But it's important itself. The play has a cognitive basis and is a potential source for assessment of academic skills. The play is a self-choosing process that productive actions would occur spontaneously and with no aim. play is flexible,challenging, unreal, fun and totally charming (2). when these descriptions happen in 18 month to 6 years old children, then it named pretend play (3). The play is a potential reference for assessing pre-academic skills and pretend play is more related to skills that are essential for learning and known as pre-literal skills (4-6) . Literal skills relate to symbols cause the child would use symbols for reading, writing and do mathematics (6) . Pretend play facilities learning since facilities pre-academic skills such as talking, organization of thinking and decontextualized language. And also it is believed that pretend play will lead to abstract thinking and logical thinking and generalization and adaptation will happen in result(5, 7) . Stagnitti was working on this assessment for the past years. One of the Characteristics of ChIPPA is Specifying play areas that determine the range of assessments (11). Self initiation is estimated in ChIPPA, too. It is an impact to show the child's ability in functional adaptation with no supervision and support of an adult (17). These actions are testing with a specific and limited tool for all children, which is sexually neutral. So it makes the same situation for each child for assessment and make it possible to comparing children with their peers (18). using of instruments Specified before, will decrease the environment affects on the play (19). The other notification is a standard and normalizes resource that every child can compare with the normal range. Furthermore the child's progress can be monitored during the time. Except this kind of tool is full of important data for research goals (20). ChIPPA has these all advantages (11). Have a test for pretend play, such as ChIPPA is totally necessary in Iran. So in this study, we translated ChIPPA and made it culturally adapted for Iranian children, then face and content validity and inter-rater, intra-rater and Test-retst reliability of ChIPPA
