There are plenty of people and groups out there who are willing to spend millions of dollars to influence an election or a candidate's politics. The best example would probably be the Koch brothers the Koch families owns one of the largest private companies in the united states and spends hundred's of millions on conservative candidates during elections. The New York times reports that the Koch family plans to spend around 889 million dollars on the upcoming election. When people donate money to candidates its not out of the kindness of their heart its more of a business deal.This is a Hypothetical example the Koch family is heavily involved in the oil industry so they might approach a candidate about passing legislation the would reduce restrictions
