According to Chancellor (2014) and Wicharaya, (1995), plea bargaining is the process in which a criminal defendant and prosecutor arrives at a mutual satisfactory disposition of a criminal case, that is subject to court. In this way, the person who is accused of a crime is allowed to plead that he/she is guilty of a less serious crime in order to be subjected to a lesser severe punishment. In some cases, plea bargaining can conclude a criminal case without trial if the defendant agrees to plead guilty without a trial thus the prosecutor agrees to dismiss some charges or at times make favorable sentence recommendations to the court.
