Without wealth, individuals tend to seek funds in order to obtain their needs and desires. Attending college has become a major necessity on the current workforce of today’s society. Based on how much knowledge and additional education one receives, employment can fluctuate. Students tend to graduate from high school and decide to apply for college, but there are those who are unable to completely compensate for the school’s tuition. In such situations, the student and parents ask the government for financial assistance. The U.S. Department of Education consist of a office known as the Federal Student Aid, which is the largest provider of student financial aid within the entire nation.The office provides billions in federal grants, loans, and work-study funds each year to more than 13 million students paying for college or career school. These grants, work-study funds and loans can greatly support the families’ desire to send their children to college; however, as the student graduate from college and join the workforce, he or she is left with a tremendous loan debt. Without the money to pay for school, Americans increasingly turned to borrowing from the government. Student loan debts is a nationwide issue which should be address; nevertheless, a quick fix has not been in process. Students have tried to hold a student debt strike in the U.S. The strike started off with “fifteen people refusing to pay their student loans since they have been defrauded by a predatory for-profit college, but soon their ranks rose to more than 200, then were supported by thousand others” (Taylor).
