Personal Narrative: Why I Volunteer For The Heroes Run Race

For my caring project, I volunteered for the Heroes Run Race. I had three jobs to do. My first job was to tell people to rip off their tags as they crossed the finish line. The second job was to hold the finish line ribbon with my baby sister for the first safety force runner who crossed the line, who happened to be my dad. Lastly, I had to pass out water to all the people who finished the five-mile race. There were close to 900 participants in the race whose entry fee went to the Heroes Run organization to use for scholarships in honor of the fallen heroes. The scholarships are awarded to students at the end of the race. After the scholarships are awarded, awards are given to the people who raced and came first in their age group. I was happy
