Personal Narrative: Moving Into Young Adulthood

There comes a time in everyone's life when a change occurs. When your childhood begins to change, and when the progression of life takes place into young adulthood. Often times a special event happens in one's life that starts this change. I believe the boost into to adulthood started for me when I moved from my home in Colorado, to live here in Utah. There have been great experiences and tough challenges, which supports the fact that this event helped me move on in my life. This all took place 5 years after I was born, when my parents chose to move from Utah to Colorado. I wasn't very affected, probably because I was so young, all I knew was I was living in a different house with my family. Upon arrival I made many new friends and I considered Colorado my home. From kindergarten all the way to 8th grade were some of the greatest years of my life. I made so many memories and so many great friendships. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Say goodbye to my home, and my friends who felt like family. The 8 hour drive to my new home was tough, it felt like weeks and my mind was still racing. I was concerned about how to make new friends, what school I was going to, and how this was going to affect me and my family. We arrived at my grandparents house late at night. We had to stay with them while the deal on our new house was closing. The timing on our arrival was perfect, it was fall break. We had sometime to settle in to Utah. Being surrounded by family made me feel comfortable about living here. It went as fast as it came. New school, first day. I was terrified to start. I had no idea how the people were going to treat me, I was worried I wasn't gonna make any friends. The first few months were rough. I sat alone at lunch and didn't really talk to anybody in class.
